1stSgt Shane E.
Henson was promoted to his current rank and
assumed his current position as the Headquarters
Company 1stSgt of Marine Corps Logistics
Command, Albany, Georgia in June of 2008.
1stSgt Henson
enlisted in the Marine Corps in January 1993.
He graduated recruit training in April of 1993
and was meritoriously |
promoted to the rank of
Private First Class. In August of 1993, 1stSgt Henson
graduated Infantry Training Battalion and was
meritoriously promoted to the Rank of Lance Corporal.
Upon
graduation from ITB, he was assigned to Weapons Company,
1st Bn 7th Marines as a Dragon
Gunner. In June of 1994, 1stSgt Henson was meritoriously
promoted to the rank of Corporal and deployed with both
the 15th and 31st Marine
Expeditionary Units.
In
March of 1998, He was transferred to serve as an
Infantry Instructor at 1st Marine Division
Schools and promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Later
that year, 1stSgt Henson was transferred serve as
Assistant Training Chief, Weapons Company 2nd
Bn 23rd Marines, 4th Marine
Division where is was promoted to the rank of Staff
Sergeant.
In June
of 2002, 1stSgt Henson was assigned to the School of
Infantry where he held billets as a Senior Combat
Instructor, Company Gunnery Sergeant, and an Instructor
of the Marine Combat Instructors Course. In January of
2005 1stSgt Henson was meritoriously promoted
to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant and assigned as the
Senior Instructor of Infantry Squad Leaders Course.
In
October of 2005, 1stSgt Henson was transferred to 1st
Bn 7th Marines, 1st Marine
Division where he served as the Weapons Company
Operation Chief and Alpha Company Gunnery Sergeant
serving two tours of duty in the Al Anbar Province of
Iraq.

Henson is married to the former Kristi Hobbs of Hot
Springs, Arkansas and they have one son, Dylan.

Hensons’ personal awards and decorations include the
Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold stars
in lieu of third award, Navy and Marine Corps
Achievement Medal with Gold Stars in lieu of third
award, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service
Medal.
